Where I'd Take You to in Detroit if You're in Town Vol. 1

Our home base city of Detroit is known historically as birthplace of techno, motown music and automotive manufacturing; though most people may not know that the city is also a hub for history, culture, fashion, and great food.
What's amazing about Detroit is that you can truly discover something new each day from visiting the nature walks and aquarium at Belle Isle to viewing art from renowned artists at the Detroit institute of Arts, such as Monet, Diego Riveria, and Vincent Van Gogh. But if you're not a first time visitor to Detroit and are looking for more of a local guide to the city, an ideal day for me would look a bit like this.
Trinosophes

Just down the street from Detroit's Eastern Market is Trinosophes, a breakfast spot that hits every mark when it comes to a morning meal for me. Their dishes can be best described as a farm-to-table vibe in which you can really tell that care and intention is put into each dish using high-quality ingredients. My go-to savory choice here is their breakfast sandwich that comes on a house-made buttermilk biscuit with a homemade dill-y sauce atop perfectly, buttery, scrambled eggs and pickles.
For a sweeter taste, I really love their muesli bowl that comes with a house-made granola with a delicious coconut yogurt underneath. They also make delicious pastries such as their homemade zucchini bread with whipped ricotta — this can usually vary depending on what's in season.
Fred's

I'd like to consider myself a bit of a beverage aficionado but that'd be somewhat biased.
I've tried a lot of caffeinated beverages in the city and it's always hard to pick favorites but this is a spot that I've been frequenting to get caffeinated when I'm downtown.
Fred's is a homey café just a few spots down from Trinosophe's and is also the perfect breakfast spot if you're visiting in town, but it's also great for a grab-and-go situation if you have a busy day planned. My go-to order here is an iced banana matcha latte with sea-salt cold foam. This is another spot that you can tell puts a lot of care into what they craft. They also have rotating seasonal flavors when it comes to their beverages.
People's Records

If you're like me, I love digging through knickknacks after I've had a hearty breakfast, the thrill of not knowing what you'll find is like no other. Just down the block from breakfast & matcha is People's Records, a spot that carries new & used vinyls in the city where I've collected many a vinyls for my collection.
Mink

Known for their famous lobster roll & oysters, Mink is the perfect spot for an early dinner, just before hitting the vintage stores right around the corner. I really love their selections of tinned fish. If you're a tinned fish fan like me, they have an amazing tin plate dish that you can order that comes with all the best accoutrements to go with your seafood of choice. To me, this is the ideal summer dinner.
Boro

Boro is a modern & vintage designer clothing boutique located in Corktown on the corner of Bagley & Trumbull, just across the street from your dinner at Mink.
Not only are their clothing selections stunning, they also have a beautiful array of home goods that they sell that are just as thoughtfully curated. Boro is also one of our retail partners that we are so glad we get to work with. They're definitely worth paying a visit to if you're in town!
Wet Picnic

Nestled in a quiet corner of Midtown, Wet Picnic is a newer spot that just opened up this past month or so. With it's red lit candles to set the mood, it's the perfect spot to close out the day. This secluded spot located in a basement makes you feel like you're the last people few people left on earth. The drinks were a 10/10, I love their innovative flavors here.
