Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie

By: Kristina Stojanoski

Heavy metals are something that we are constantly consuming even when we don't know it. This smoothie recipe recommended by Anthony William, the Medical Medium, was created to help your body naturally detox heavy metals that can cause harm to our immune systems. These ingredients help to pull our toxic metals from your system that can be in hard to reach places. The bacteria that feeds off of these heavy metals can be found in your gut and it also most often the cause of SIBO and bloating. Now this smoothie isn't a cure-all but if you're interested in checking out more about the Medical Medium lifestyle I will link it here!

This smoothie I'll be giving the recipe for is a variation of that created by MM. I love to add the Nue Co.'s Probiotic Plant Protein to this recipe because it's a great source of protein that is vegan and made with probiotics that provide your stomach with bacteria that is beneficial for you gut, immunity, skin, and nails, yet it doesn't leave you feeling bloated. It's a blend of organic pea, hemp + brown rice protein. Because I cannot have a lot of the ingredients in the original HMD smoothie, here is a similar recipe:

You'll need:

  • 1 handful of wild blueberries (best when frozen)

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 handful of spinach

  • 1 teaspoon of spirulina powder

  • 1 teaspoon of the Nue Co. Probiotic Plant Protein

  • 1 tablespoon of raw honey

  • a small amount of non-dairy milk just to blend it all together

blend all these ingredients together and enjoy! I love this smoothie recipe because it tastes so great and isn't too sweet as well as also being super beneficial for your body and cells. In combination with drinking a HMD smoothie, it's important to stay hydrated. I recommend drinking lemon water to keep your cells hydrated! It's best to drink lemon water on an empty stomach in the morning 30 minutes before you eat breakfast. This way your liver has enough time to detox by purging deep toxin. If you add this into your routine, you could even put a bit of honey or grated ginger into your lemon water for even more added benefits!

I'm not an expert on MM but these are just a few things that I've learned over the years that I've noticed have helped me feel overall better when it comes to fatigue, brain fog, and more.
