Matcha is something that has quickly became trendy this past year or so! I'm not surprised though because it's definitely a treat that I enjoy as well. I enjoy drinking matcha sometimes over coffee because it has so many benefits and makes me feel energized without feeling jittery. Matcha is an antioxidant rich green tea powder that can be mixed into milk as a latte or added to smoothies. It originated in Japan and was used for tea ceremonies.
Studies have proven that drinking Matcha has various benefits for your skin and overall health. It contains antioxidants called catechins, that can help stabilize harmful free radicals in your body that can damage cells and are responsible for chronic illnesses. I also enjoy drinking matcha because it makes me feel more focused and clear minded. Studies also show that this is because matcha can help enhance brain function as well as induce relaxation and decrease stress levels by helping your body produce L-theanine. This amino acid is also responsible for helping you get better sleep and can also be found in black tea and various mushrooms.
Drinking matcha can also be beneficial to your skin as well, the same way that our Gentle Detox Mask is!
